ANZAC spirit alive at Concord

The sacrifice and spirit of ANZAC is commemorated each year at Concord Hospital with a service at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway.

This year a special Dawn Service to mark the Centenary is expected to bring together more than 1000 members of our community.
In preparation for the event, the call went out to hospital and auxiliary networks for knitted poppies.
Incredibly, thousands of red poppies have been made to feature in a giant installation at Brays Bay on the banks of the Parramatta River following the Dawn Service on Sunday.
You can be part of this special tribute when we join with the City of Canada Bay, Concord RSL, local schools and community groups to commemorate the end of the Centenary of ANZAC.
The dawn service starts at 5.30am at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway, Killoola St, Concord West with breakfast to follow from local Rotary Clubs. Parking is available at Concord Hospital with shuttle services also running from Concord RSL and Strathfield Station from 4am. Details at www.kokodawalkway.com.au/event/dawn-service
