Junior doctors tour the new Redevelopment
Two Concord Hospital junior doctors joined the Redevelopment project team for the first site tour in 2021, as construction progresses on the new Clinical Services Building.
Fangzhi Jia and Gajanth Sivapalan are junior medical officers, or JMOs, and are undertaking their medical internships at Concord.
Concord Hospital marks a milestone
The Concord Hospital Redevelopment has reached an important milestone, with construction of the eight-storey clinical services building reaching its highest point. Health Minister Brad Hazzard and Member for Drummoyne John Sidoti visited the site along with Sydney Local Health District and Health Infrastructure project executives for a traditional topping out ceremony.
Redevelopment hits milestone with first Concrete Pour
In a major boost for the Redevelopment, the first concrete slab was poured in October. The basement level pour quickly covered the site area near the old tennis court area. Some 425.9 cubic metres was poured during the week but this is only a small part of the total 18,950 cubic metres that will be required before the project is completed.
Demolition complete, Main Works begin
The Main Works contractor Roberts Pizzarotti has taken possession of most of the site and has commenced piling in the the area where the old tennis courts existed and also in the old loading dock space.
This old loading dock new area will become a key feature of Stage 1 and be described as the Atrium.
